*Cough, cough* *Coughs again*

…most of these are blog highlights, but the few that include exclusive interviews or a guest blog are noted as such.

In other writing news, Avadi Book Two is still in the works (of course) and THE CURSE OF LUMA is *really* close to being fully drafted…despite having hit some writing snags lately. Not the “writer’s block” kind; more like work stuff, family stuff, all that distracting/exhausting kind stuff we each experience at some point. But the story-weaving juices in my brain are still flowing and for that I am thankful. 🙂

Just for fun, here’s a couple small excerpts from draft #1:

“I grunt. Hang up already. You bored her to sleep. I guess I’ll hang up for her. I peel my eyes back—firmly sealing them together is my best attempt at a REM cycle—and see that it’s past midnight, making it December 21st. My seventeenth birthday.

And, what the—did Tiffany turn on the light? No, she’s motionless beneath her cover. I draw my own cover away and hate myself for it immediately when cold hits my legs. I forget about it while I scan the room. This is weird.

Weird isn’t a term I use often; it’s directed at me enough to be essentially banished from my vocabulary. Besides, I’m no stranger to the abnormal. For example, there are times I can’t find my shadow. And, sometimes, I think I hear whispers seeping out of corners shrouded in darkness. But this…this is new.

I can see in the dark.”

“I’m pretty sure I’m being led to my death. Natia has not so much as breathed in my direction since I’ve been following her. All the shininess has been replaced by lifeless gray; all luxury traded for bleak stone. Darkness curls in every crevice. The tendrils wrap around Natia, well acquainted with their queen. Some snake out and touch me only to retreat to their corners, as if I’m a new flavor they’re not quite sure they like the taste of.”

^ Not super telling, but it’s hard to find chunks of story that don’t contain spoilers.

For all my blog visitors, readers, and/or supporters, I appreciate you more than you know!
